Quickly and easily send money to anyone who uses Varo with the Varo to Varo instant transfer feature. Note that your Varo Visa® Debit card must be activated in order to transfer money.
How do I use Varo to Varo?
- Log in to the Varo app.
- Tap Move Money at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap Varo to Varo transfer.
- Select a recipient by entering the email address of the person you’re sending money to. Be careful to enter the email address correctly to make sure your payment is going to the right person!
- Enter the amount you want to send.
- Enter a note with the reason for the transfer.
- Review the transfer a final time, because transfers can’t be canceled or reversed after they’re sent. Tap Cancel if the recipient information or the amount of the transfer needs to be changed. If the recipient information and the amount of the transfer is correct, tap Send Money to finish the transfer.
What are the limits for Varo to Varo?
You can make up to 50 individual payments per calendar day and transfer up to $2,000 per rolling 30 day- period. For example, if you transfer $1,200 on April 1, and then transfer $800 on April 15, you wouldn’t be able to use Varo to Varo again until May 1. Transfers that exceed the available balance of your Varo Bank Account will be declined, so if you need to send more money, you can transfer funds in from your Varo Savings account or a linked bank account to your Varo Bank Account prior to the transfer by tapping Move Money in the app.
Can I send money to someone who doesn’t have a Varo Bank Account?
No, only people with a Varo Bank Account can accept a Varo to Varo transfer. If you’d like to send money to someone who doesn’t have a Varo account, they’ll need to sign up and be approved for a Varo Bank Account before they can receive your payment.
How do I find the recipient I’m trying to send money to?
Varo to Varo transfers are only available between Varo customers, so you can only send money to someone with an open Varo account.
To find a recipient, tap on Move Money then Varo to Varo transfer, then tap on Select recipient.
If you are sending money to someone for the first time, enter their full email address in the “Search by name or email” field at the top of the screen.
If you have sent money to that person before, you can type their name or select them from your list of Top Recipients or All Recipients.
If the recipient still doesn’t appear, they might be using a different email with their Varo account or they aren’t Varo customers yet.
How long does the transfer take to post?
Varo to Varo transfers are instant! Because money is transferred instantly, transfers can’t be canceled or reversed once they’re sent.
Are there any fees to use Varo to Varo?
Nope! There are no fees to use the Varo to Varo feature.
What if I sent money to the wrong person?
Transfers can’t be canceled or reversed once they are sent, so make sure the payment and recipient are accurate before sending. You can confirm all the details of your transfer are correct before you send it by taking a look at the review screen. How is the recipient notified that they’ve received a Varo to Varo transfer?
Once the transfer is complete, the recipient will receive a push notification (if their push notifications are turned on) from their Varo app that they’ve received money from you. They’ll also get an email with the details.
How do I see all my Varo to Varo transfers?
In the Varo app, tap Move Money, then Varo to Varo transfers. On the top right, tap History to see all the Varo to Varo transfers you’ve sent and received. You can tap on each transaction for more info.
You’ll also receive an email and a push notification in the app (if your push notifications are enabled) when you send or receive a Varo to Varo transfer.
