While we do not have the exact date when you will receive your payment from the IRS, Varo will release payments the same day we receive notice from the Federal Reserve Bank. So there is no need to reach out to us if your payment has not posted to your Varo Bank Account yet. Meanwhile, we can tell you the second it hits your account with push notifications. Turn them on in your Varo app: tap Settings, tap Manage Notifications, then set the slider to on.

I filed my taxes in 2019 (or 2018) and received my refund via direct deposit or I receive SSI, Railroad Retirees, or VA benefits.
If you filed your 2018 or 2019 taxes, the IRS will send the stimulus payment the same way you received your most recent tax return. The IRS will also use the information on the Form SSA-1099 or Form RRB-1099 to generate recipients. This includes Social Security recipients and railroad retirees who are not required to file a tax return. The Treasury started sending out direct deposit payments on April 10, 2020. All Varo customers who received a stimulus payment via direct deposit have received it in their account. If you haven't received your payment yet, that means the Treasury has not sent it to Varo. You can track the status of your payment on the IRS website here: www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment.
I filed my taxes in 2018 or 2019 but did not receive my refund via direct deposit.
If you did not receive your 2019 or 2018 tax refund via direct deposit, go to www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment for more information on Economic Impact Payments, payment tracking, and information about how you will receive your payment.
I have not filed my 2018 or 2019 taxes yet.
If you have not filed your tax return for 2018 or 2019, the quickest way to get your Economic Impact Payment is to file your taxes. Check out the guide the IRS has on their website for more specific information.
I was not required to file taxes in 2018 or 2019.
If you are not required to file taxes, check out the non-filer portal on the IRS website to see if this is the best option for you: https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/non-filers-enter-payment-info-here.
I am a SSI recipient who did not file 2018 or 2019 tax returns and I have qualifying children under 17 (May 5, 2020 deadline).
If you have dependent children and you did not file a 2018 or 2019 tax return and you receive SSI, you need to take action by May 5, 2020 to receive payments related to your dependents. Please visit the IRS’ Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info Here webpage to provide information requested by the IRS.
