- Excludes Harris Teeter
- Free only when using your in-app barcode. Adding cash at Kroger stores using a Varo debit card will incur a fee.
Other participating retailers may charge a service fee of up to $4.95 per transaction.

Ask the cashier to add cash directly to your Varo account using your Varo Bank Visa®️ debit card or in-app barcode, add $20 or more per transaction2. Funds are usually available in about 20 minutes. Keep your receipt as proof of your transaction.

Adding cash via barcode is free at the Kroger Family of Stores (excluding Harris Teeter stores) from 7/22/26 until 8/18/26. A retail service fee of up to $4.95 may be charged for adding cash with card swipe, and after 8/18/26, a retail service fee of up to $4.95 may be charged for all cash adds at the Kroger Family of Stores. Transaction amounts must be between $20 and $500. Limits and a retail service fee of up to $4.95 may apply when adding cash at other retail locations.
