✔ Eligible check types:
- U.S. Treasury Checks
- Personal and Business Checks
- State and Local Government Checks
- Treasurer’s/Cashier’s Checks
- Certified Checks
- Federal Reserve Bank Checks
- Federal Home Loan Bank Checks
- U.S. Postal Service Money Orders
- Government checks (such as tax refunds for jointly filed returns) payable to you and another person but must be signed by all payees
❌Ineligible check types:
- Non-government checks payable to you and another person or entity (e.g. joint account checks)
- Checks containing alterations
- Fraudulent checks, or checks you should know or have reason to believe are fraudulent, or drawn against an account that has been closed or has insufficient funds for the transaction
- Checks that have been previously deposited at another institution via physical item, image or electronic funds transfer
- Checks from financial institutions located outside of the U.S.
- Checks that are not payable in U.S. dollars
- Checks that are more than six months old (i.e. stale dated) or that are post-dated
- Substitute checks (a digital reproduction of the front and back of an original check)
- Remotely created checks (a check created by a merchant with a buyer’s checking account number on it, but without the buyer’s original signature)
- Travelers checks and savings bonds
- Non-negotiable instruments, such as promissory notes
- Starter checks or counter checks (checks from a teller window)
- Credit card checks or convenience checks
